US intelligence officials are losing confidence in the administration of President Joe Biden. American journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh wrote about this in article for the Substack platform.

“The lack of leadership is leading to a complete breach of trust between the White House and the intelligence community,” – says the journalist.

According to Hersh’s intelligence source, the main dissatisfaction with the intelligence agencies is caused by the work of Biden himself, as well as the actions of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and US Assistant to the President for National Security Jake Sullivan.

Intelligence officers believe that the leadership of their country “lives in a world of its own”, different from the vision of experienced officers, intelligence officers and diplomats.

In addition, Hersh cited the words of a “distinguished American diplomat” criticizing the Biden administration’s policies towards Russia and China – he called Blinken “an opinionated congressional official” and Sullivan a “political campaign manager.”

The leak of two large batches of secret Pentagon documents that occurred on April 6 and 8 may also affect relations between intelligence and the US administration. The papers contain intelligence information about the state of the Ukrainian army, as well as US and NATO plans to strengthen the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Because of this, as CNN previously wrote, Kyiv had to change its “military plans.”

On April 10, White House strategic communications coordinator John Kirby said that the US authorities have not yet come to a unified version of how the secret documents were leaked.

The Pentagon has already launched an investigation into the incident. Now he has four main versions of what happened, but the revenge of a disgruntled employee of the US Department of Defense appears as the leading one.

Fox News reported that the leak could have come from the Central Intelligence Agency or the US National Security Agency.
