First Deputy Foreign Minister of South Korea and former Ambassador to Russia Chang Ho-jin may visit Moscow in mid-May, reports agency Yonhap, citing sources.
Presumably, the visit will last two days, during which time he plans to meet with Russian officials, whom he did not have time to say goodbye to after leaving his previous position.
Jang Ho Jin was appointed Ambassador to Russia in the summer of 2022. However, already in April 2023, he was offered to take the post of deputy head of the South Korean Foreign Ministry, he agreed.
At the same time, the South Korean Foreign Ministry, in an interview with TASS did not confirm the intention of the diplomat to come.
“This message is wrong” the agency was told.
Earlier it was reported that South Korea would ban another 740 goods for import to Russia and Belarus. The restrictions will affect semiconductors, chemicals, steel, cars, mechanical engineering, quantum computers and more.
