Senators Cinema and Tillis are proposing to extend the similar 42nd regulation on the border for another two years.

A pair of bipartisan senators are working on a bill to allow a continuation express deportation belonging undocumented immigrants at the border, upon termination of the application Title 42a Trump administration rule that authorized the expulsion of immigrants due to the Covid pandemic, according to Politico.

Senators Kirsten Cinema (Arizona Independent) and Senator Tom Tillis (R-North Carolina) are working on legislation that grant a two-year temporary removal permit for undocumented immigrants from the United States, similar to what is currently permitted under Section 42, and which will also allow continued rejection of asylum claims.

The bill was supported by Democratic Senator Joe Manchin and Republican Senator John Cornyn.

The rule will maintain a situation similar to the current one, in which Border Patrol agents can expedite people who cross the United States illegally under the protection of Section 42.

However, once the end of the Covid health emergency is declared, Section 42 will cease to apply. The Biden administration, which initially promised to reverse the measure, used the rules to expel thousands of immigrants.

In order to prepare for the possible problems that have arisen due to the end of Section 42 due to a possible increase in migratory flow, 1,500 US soldiers will be sent to the border to support border patrol agents.

In addition, the United States intends to establish centers for dealing with cases of migrants in other countries, such as Colombia and Guatemala. Spain and Canada have agreed to accept people from these centers.

The end of Section 42 has drawn harsh criticism from Republicans, as well as warnings from some Democrats who fear the administration does not have the resources along the US-Mexico border to handle the influx of immigrants who seek to enter the United States.

Eleven Senate Republicans, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Senator Lindsey Graham, sent Biden a letter on Wednesday urging him to change course and keep Section 42 in place.
