Putin stated the importance of creating a railway corridor Rasht – Astara

Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about the importance of creating the Rasht-Astara railway corridor. He spoke about this during a video conference during which an agreement is signed between Russia and Iran.

“It would seem that this is a small section, but its commissioning will allow establishing direct, uninterrupted, seamless railway communication along the entire length of the North-South route,” – said the Russian leader.

The President of the Russian Federation noted the successful interaction between the countries. According to him, this speaks of mutually beneficial and fruitful relations between the states.

Putin also thanked Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi for supporting the project.

“Thanks for his support. I was very glad to see you, and I hope to continue our contacts“, – said the Russian leader.
