The United States and its allies are preparing to transfer several F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. This information was reported on May 19 by the TV company NBCciting a source in the US administration.

It is clarified that so far the United States, together with its partners, has not set the exact dates for the transfer of fighters to Kyiv. Which countries will deliver the F-16 to Ukraine and in what quantity is also not specified. Appropriate decisions will be made in the near future.

According to the channel, Ukrainian fighters will not use the received fighters when trying to develop counteroffensives. The vessels will be handed over as part of Ukraine’s “long-term program to strengthen security.”

Earlier in the day, it was reported that US leader Joe Biden approved the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets.

And before that, the Politico newspaper, citing its source in the Pentagon, reported that Washington was not opposed to other countries transferring fighter jets to Kyiv.

Recall that the Pentagon has repeatedly questioned the need for Ukraine in this type of weapons at the current stage of the conflict.
