During his working visit to China, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin laid flowers at the Monument of People’s Heroes on Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

The monument was erected in memory of the folk heroes who died during the revolutionary struggle of the Chinese people in the 19th and 20th centuries. The monument was built in 1952-1958, a monument with a height of almost 38 meters is located on the south side of Tiananmen Square and consists of 17 thousand blocks, granite and marble. On the front side of the monument, a handwritten quote by Mao Zedong is carved: “Eternal glory to the people’s heroes!”

Mishustin’s visit to China will last two days. In Beijing, the head of the Russian Cabinet has already met with the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Li Qiang, and also participated in Russian-Chinese negotiations. Mishustin is also scheduled to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
