Turkey is completing preparations for the second, final stage of the presidential elections. The intensity of passions has reached its highest point. Candidates for the post The incumbent head of state, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and his pro-European rival Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu have already turned to sharp attacks on each other.

Our correspondent Viktor Sineok spoke about the pre-election mood from Turkey. Details in the material REN TV.

What happens in Turkey during elections

Not such intensity was expected from two irreconcilable opponents. Visual agitation on the streets of Turkish cities has become much less – at times, compared to the first round. Near the Kilicdoroglu tent, five people are handing out leaflets to passers-by at once, Erdogan’s supporters immediately calmly wait until they are approached and asked. They try not to interfere with each other, but sometimes they still sparkle between them.

In Belgian Brussels, voters could not contain their emotions at the absentee voting station for those abroad. Hot time: 17,500 more votes were cast ahead of schedule outside Turkey this time.

A high turnout is also expected on Sunday. In the meantime, the opposition candidate is trying to scandalously expose his opponent.

“I claim that you, Erdogan, have not only dealt with terrorists. You are their patron. I challenge you: let’s meet on the main channel and I will prove that you are a dishonorable person!” – Kilicdaroglu said.

By last name and by “you” – here this is the maximum level of rudeness that a candidate can allow. And Erdogan immediately replied:

“You lie in the morning, in the evening. That’s your style. Do you call me on TV? But that’s your problem. We don’t have time for your excuses.”

It is the pretender Kılıçdoraglu who needs a scandal now. The polls are not in his favor, and the topics for promises are running out. There are so many of them. He even compiled them into an election collection.

What does each candidate promise?

The book of the opposition candidate is sold in many stores in Turkey. It’s called “No Child Goes to Bed Hungry”. But besides her, there are still a lot of works about him. But books about Erdogan journalists REN TV not found in this store. But a lot about Ataturk.

This happens when the owner of the store supports one of the parties.

Some Turks like Kılıçdaroğlu’s promise to send refugees back to Syria. But Erdogan promised to create conditions for them to decide to return. He also visited the regions affected by the earthquake and is trying to attract young people. In response, the opposition wins over the voices of the older generation.

Round dances near Tulum – the Turkish analogue of the bagpipe, are now led in support of the opposition every evening. But there is something that still repels a large number of voters. Kılıçdaroğlu said he would review Russian-Turkish energy projects, allegedly to make Turkey less dependent. But what will happen to the economy then? Prices are already skyrocketing.

The situation in the cafe, which is located near the film crew’s hotel, speaks clearly about inflation in Turkey. The day before, one cake cost 100 lire, and the other 110. Both of them have risen in price by 25%.

They add not a small piece, but a huge piece at once, because there is no certainty about what will happen next.

Despite numerous polls, no one knows the outcome of these elections. And the candidates will fight to the very end.
