The West plans to destabilize the situation in the CIS with the help of a sharp increase in conflict potential, said the head of the Russian FSB Alexander Bortnikov during meetings with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk.

“The collective West has taken a course to destabilize the countries of the Commonwealth and the Union State by sharply increasing the potential for conflict throughout the CIS and at its borders,” – Bortnikov is quoted by the Belta agency.

Bortnikov stressed that the forecast made last year at a meeting of the heads of security agencies and special services of the CIS states and regarding changes in the operational situation due to Western activity has already come true.

Earlier it was reported that the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation uncovered an intelligence campaign conducted by US intelligence agencies using Apple mobile phones in Russia.
