Alan Mizon won a big prize in the ZIP Code Lottery using a recurring ticket his wife Diane created before she died.
In the UK, former blind Royal Marine Alan Mison has won a prize of £400,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery thanks to his late wife’s winning ticket. The Daily Express writes about it.
His 77-year-old wife, Diana, hit the jackpot after registering them in the lottery before she died of cancer in 2020.
Mizon has dedicated the prize to his wife, whom he says will “absolutely pass out with happiness” to snatch a piece of the £3.2m Postcode Lottery prize (money split among all winners of the lottery).
The Ex-Marine got the bulk of the jackpot after being on the zip code winners list. But victory was still bittersweet, as she said the moment would have been happier if the “love of her life” was still with her.
“Damn, it’s just a miracle! Dee was ecstatic. She bought me a ZIP Code Lottery ticket, she was smart. She takes care of me,” said the winner.
Mizon said he will donate some of the money to charities and use the rest to revisit some of the places they had vacationed during their 53-year marriage with Diana.
“Since I can’t see and walk well, I got in line to get a guide dog who would be a great help and a great friend.
