Sweden will allocate money for humanitarian aid to Ukraine, and Bulgaria will send military cargo

The amount of financial aid from Stockholm will be 380 million Swedish crowns.

The Swedish government supported a large humanitarian aid package for Ukraine. This was expressed by the country’s Minister of Foreign Trade, Johan Forssel, writes the press service of the Swedish government.

The statement also described the activities of Stockholm’s Ukrainian Red Cross and other non-governmental organizations.

In addition, Sweden will finance the United Nations Development Program to restore Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The Swedish government says Stockholm has provided €152.6 million in humanitarian aid, €64.2 million in rescue support and €27 million in reform support since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Military aid from Bulgaria

Also, on 26 June, the Bulgarian government approved a new military aid package for Ukraine, as stated on the agency’s website.

“The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria, with Resolutions 444 and 445 of June 23, 2023, approved a new package of military and military-technical assistance to Ukraine in accordance with the decision of the National Assembly of December 9, 2022,” the statement said.

Note that on 21 June Bulgaria announced a new military aid package to Kiev. The Bulgarian Defense Minister did not support the President’s decision to refuse the country to participate in the EU’s attempt to supply one million artillery shells to Kiev.

Recall that at the beginning of May 2022, the Bulgarian Parliament unanimously decided to provide military-technical and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The discussion lasted for 5 hours.

It was also reported that on June 16, Sweden will train Ukrainian pilots on Gripen warplanes. Earlier, the Swedish Prime Minister said that they are ready to provide training, but not ready to procure Ukrainian civil warplanes.
