Hackers gained access to the database of one of the largest units of the UK National Health System, writes The Daily Telegraph.

The London trust Barts Health, which consists of six hospitals and ten medical centers, was attacked. Together, these facilities serve about 2.5 million patients.

The BlackCat group claimed responsibility for this cyberattack. The hackers said they had obtained seven terabytes of sensitive data, including banking details. They also called the hack the largest in the history of the British healthcare system.

“We have seen reports of a ransomware attack and are urgently investigating the situation”is a statement from the hospital trust.

Now the secret services of the kingdom are engaged in the incident.

Recall that at the end of June, a British hacker was sentenced to five years in prison for hacking hundreds of Twitter accounts of politicians, stars and businessmen, including Joe Biden, Elon Musk and Bill Gates.
