In winter, news broke that scientists had discovered a planet very similar to Earth.
The exoplanet is known as Wolf 1069 b and is located very close to us in space terms – just 31 light years from the solar system, on the northern side of the Milky Way. This planet is almost twice our size and orbits a red dwarf in the constellation Cygnus.
Wolf 1069 b is the sixth closest Earth-like planet. In total, scientists have found more than 5200 exoplanets in the Universe, but less than two hundred of them have the same topography as the Earth. And even fewer are located around the stars that create the conditions for life.
And what other planets can replace the Earth for people? And what would a move to Jupiter’s moon give humanity? Details about this and much more – in the program “Science and Technology” with the host Mikhail Borzenkov. Science blockbuster will be released on Sunday, July 9 at 10:30 on REN TV.
