President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky asked Prime Minister Denys Shmygal to fire Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko due to the allocation of funds for the filming of Ukrainian films and series. The head of the Kyiv regime announced this on his Telegram channel.
The reason for talking about resignation was the allocation of about 400 million hryvnia (which is more than 10 million dollars at the current exchange rate) for the creation of patriotic paintings. The minister himself called this normal practice and gave an example that even during the Second World War, Western countries spent budget money on the film industry.
Nevertheless, Zelensky did not appreciate this approach, saying that all budget money should go to defense.
“Asked the Prime Minister to consider replacing the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine”– said the President of Ukraine.
In addition, he set Shmyhal the task of finding investors for projects “that are really needed.”
A month earlier, Zelensky removed Igor Kizim from his post as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Minsk.
