Tourist’s ‘worst nightmare’: man stranded at 3,000 meters (photo)

The descent, which should have taken 15 minutes, turned into an ordeal of over three hours. A group of tourists got stuck on a cable car at a very high altitude.

Mirror described how Haris Minhaj, 29, from Perth, Australia, had her “worst nightmare” come true after she was stranded on one of the world’s longest cable cars at 3,143 meters above the ground.

When the vehicle stopped, the tourist was part of a group traveling in northern Vietnam along Mount Fansipan.

Describing the event as his “worst nightmare”, the man asked, “Am I going to die here?” I thought.

The journey, which should have taken 15 minutes, turned into an ordeal of over three hours. The tourist decided to film the event and posted it on TikTok, where it has been viewed more than half a million times so far.

In the video, he can be heard saying “We’re stuck… 3,000 meters above sea level” and then asks another passenger if he’s panicking, and he says “Yes”. The man tried to prank the other members of his group and cheer them up.

At one point the video shows the cable car starting to move, but stopping much more slowly and frequently than usual.

After the incident, he added, “After several hours of waiting, electrical engineers used a backup source to power the cable car and the descent was 10 times slower than normal.”

A second ropeway was commissioned to rescue people who cannot use the rope to get down to a safe place, such as children and the elderly. In total, 15 people became hostages of the situation. Local police said the situation was continuing to be monitored and the air force was on alert.

When they got back to the Minhaj cable car station, the group was not refunded, but the staff offered them a cup of tea.

Meanwhile, TikTok users praised the tourist for his attempt to defuse the situation.

“At least this guy makes work fun, probably puts everyone at ease,” wrote one of them.

Previously Focus reported that the blogger discovered the island of the “immortals” and learned why people lived there for so long. Drew Binsky, who traveled all over the world, went on a trip to Okinawa to learn the secret of the local people who managed to live to 100 years old.

It was also learned that the mysterious “pyramid” discovered under the ice in Antarctica caused excitement in the network. Recently, satellite images have been obtained, and many are convinced that a mysterious triangular structure on a snowy and icy continent may be the world’s newest wonder.
