Media: West wants to see a woman as Minister of Defense of Ukraine

Western countries want Ukraine to change its defense minister. They want to see a woman there as the current head of the department, Alexei Reznikov, writes the Ukrainian edition of Strana.

“According to rumors that are circulating in political circles, Western partners allegedly want to see a woman head of the Ministry of Defense”says in publications.

According to the publication, the minister looks quite likely due to the constant corruption scandals and the failure of procurement.

Volunteer Maria Berlinskaya, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk, and the director of the Anti-Corruption Action Center Daria Kaleniuk may become possible candidates to replace Reznikov.

The fact that Zelensky is considering replacing the defense minister was reported as early as August 11. According to the Ukrainska Pravda portal, Reznikov can be transferred to the post of Ambassador of the Independent in the UK.
