Former US President Donald Trump, who is accused of attempting to interfere in the elections in the state of Georgia, intends to voluntarily appear in jail on August 24 or 25.
According to CNN, Trump will voluntarily report to the Fulton County Jail.
Defendants are ordered to undergo a formal arrest procedure. They will be searched, photographed and fingerprinted.
Recall that, according to the decision of the Fulton County Sheriff of the US state of Georgia, Trump must voluntarily appear at the county jail before August 25 to undergo a formal arrest procedure. At the same time, the businessman claims that all the criminal cases brought against him are fabricated.
Trump’s election interference trial could begin on March 4, 2024, according to the Fulton County Court database.
On August 14, a Georgia grand jury indicted Trump in a case of attempting to influence the outcome of the 2020 election. The accusations against the former head of the White House include 13 counts, as well as charges against former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani and his former assistant, former White House employee Mark Meadows.
In addition, Trump faces three criminal charges, including financial fraud in payments to former porn actress Stormy Daniels, improper handling of classified documents, and committing illegal acts to maintain power in the 2020 elections. On August 2, Trump calculated that he could go to prison for 561 years on all the charges against him.
