For Ukraine, only unfavorable options for the outcome of the conflict now remain. This opinion was expressed in his account in social networks X Julian Repke, columnist for the German newspaper Bild.

He drew attention to the fact that from the analysis of the deputy editor-in-chief of the publication, Paul Ronzheimer, it follows that the Kyiv authorities were “in a devastating situation.”

“In fact, there are only bad options and that the West bears a lot of responsibility for this situation,” wrote a journalist.

Ronzheimer believes that a second counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) may occur in 2024, since now Western partners are declaring the lack of success of the current offensive. At the same time, such a new operation will be possible only if Kyiv continues to pump weapons. As the most “terrible” option for Kyiv, he called the Russian counteroffensive.

Recall that on June 4, a counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began in the South Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Artemivsk directions, which had been talked about for so long in Kyiv. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Ukrainian militants are not successful in any of the sectors of the front. In addition, they are suffering heavy losses, hundreds of pieces of equipment have been destroyed.

On July 21, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, also announced that there were no results from the attempts of the Ukrainian counteroffensive. He also noted the disappointment of Western curators with such results.

On July 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the counteroffensive was facing problems due to the slow pace of the West’s arms shipments.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the West noticed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine lacked weapons and training for competent battles with the Russian army. They cannot pass the minefields deployed by the RF Armed Forces, and the Russian military aviation also complicates the task.

Russian special operation to protect Donbass

Recall that on February 17, 2022, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced an aggravation of the situation. The republics announced the evacuation of civilians.

On February 21, 2022, the leaders of the Donbass republics turned to Russian leader Vladimir Putin with a request to recognize the independence of the DNR and LNR. The head of state held a meeting of the Security Council, after which he announced the recognition of the republics. Friendship and cooperation agreements were also signed with the independent Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. The State Duma and the Federation Council ratified these agreements.

On February 23, 2022, the heads of the DPR and LPR appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to help repel Ukraine’s aggression in order to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe and civilian casualties.

On February 24, 2022, the Russian leader addressed the nation and announced the start of a special operation in Ukraine to protect Donbass.

On September 30, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the entry of these regions into the Russian Federation.
