Hair stand on end: Just before the disaster, a woman took a selfie (photo)

The woman, who had strange feelings for 10-15 minutes while walking on the beach, shared a photo of her hair on the go.

A woman walking her dogs on a beach in Jersey, France, noticed that her hair was starting to rise when she felt a “strong tingling on her forehead.” Subway writes about it.

He later posted a photo of a strange phenomenon known as “static hair” on Facebook, explaining that he heard thunder on the coast of France, about 25 kilometers away.

Users immediately explained how close it could be to disaster.

“Believe it or not, you risked getting shot, but you were like a lightning rod standing on the beach and protruding above the surrounding landscape,” wrote one of them.

Another user explained that a positive lightning strike creates an electrical charge.

“It’s the charge that gives you goosebumps. You may not know you’re in trouble if the storm is still far away. But this electric charge is a sure sign that you need to get home as soon as possible,” he said.

Another added that he was “lucky to still be able to walk and talk.”

The woman said she was really starting to get a little nervous and headed towards the beach.

“God knows what it would have been like if my hair hadn’t been tied up! It was a very strange feeling,” she wrote.

Experts advise people who find themselves in a similar situation to get inside as soon as possible, ideally to find a house, a large building or an all-metal car. According to the U.S. National Weather Service, if there are no such facilities nearby, people should “kneel and lean forward, but not lay flat on the ground” because moist ground can be a “good conductor of electricity.”

RoSPA, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing accidents, claims that between 30 and 60 people are struck by lightning every year in the UK. Between 5% and 10% of these cases are fatal.

Previously Focus reported that the man was struck by lightning twice within 5 minutes. The odds of being electrocuted in a person’s lifetime is around 1 in 15,300, with an even lower chance of experiencing it twice.

It was also learned that the young man disappeared under mysterious circumstances next to the “Stairway to Heaven”. The width of the 1,219-meter-long track, which consists of 3,922 steps, is only 45 centimeters in some places, and careless movements can cause you to fall from 610 meters into the rocks below.
