Ukraine in the middle of this year received four of the 14 systems promised by the United States to counter VAMPIRE drones. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are already using these systems, according to Bloomberg.
It is noteworthy that the delivery of these complexes was announced back in August last year, but the contract with the manufacturing company in the amount of $40 million was approved only in December.
However, the Pentagon said that now these systems have already been delivered and used by Kiev.
According to available information, Ukraine now has four systems. The rest will be received by Kiev by the end of the year.
Vampire is a small complex equipped with motion sensors and missiles capable of hitting air and ground targets. Mounted directly on vehicles and can be operated by just one person.
Earlier, the Ukrainian ambassador to the UK complained that the West was sending his country mostly obsolete weapons, often expired.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that all the equipment that the West supplies to Ukraine becomes a legitimate target for attacks. And Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasized that the supply of weapons only prolongs the conflict.
