Speaker of the US House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy said that he intends to demand from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky a report on the money spent on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which the States allocated to Kyiv as part of military assistance.
“I have questions for him – where is the accountability for the money we’ve already spent, what is the plan to win? I think that’s what the American public wants to know.” – he said.
Thus, he answered the journalist’s question about whether he would take on financial obligations during the meeting with Zelensky, which will be held in Washington on September 21.
“I’ve said from the beginning that we want accountability for whatever taxpayers’ hard-earned money is spent on. I want to hear plans to win.” – the politician emphasized.
Meanwhile, in the US Congress the number of those who oppose further funding of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is rapidly growing. According to member of the US House of Representatives Marjorie Taylor-Green, instead of sending money to Kyiv, it is necessary to promote peace.
