Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy has changed his mind about withdrawing funds for the training of Ukrainian military personnel from the Pentagon budget. Hill writes about this.
The publication says that McCarthy decided to leave $300 million in aid to Ukraine in the draft budget.
“He realized that next week another measure would be proposed on State Department spending and foreign operations, also including money for Kyiv.”writes the publication.
The House of Representatives will vote on excluding funds for Ukraine from two projects at once, the publication clarifies.
Earlier, the Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council, Alexey Danilov, said that Kyiv does not have a backup plan in case of a decrease in the volume of American military assistance.
He also complained that for some reason their Western partners have not yet come to a common opinion regarding the future of Ukraine and are only talking about “help, not victory.”
