Police in riot gear checked the building of the former Russian Consulate General in the city of Turku, whose lease had expired. The portal reports this YLE.

“The police carried out a surprise check in the empty building of the former Russian consulate in Turku. During the check, the police were wearing heavy protective equipment,” – specified in the message.

The Finnish state company Senaatti, which has been servicing the building since the closure of the Consulate General, stated that there is nothing wrong with the inspection of this property and that they are a common thing for the company.

After the police inspection, the building will still be sanitized and audited, the company summed up.

Let us remind you that Russian diplomats left the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the city of Turku at the end of September. The representative office of our country has been there since 1976.
