Israeli authorities have requested an emergency aid package of $10 billion from the United States, The New York Times reported, citing three officials.

According to the publication, legislative consideration of this issue is currently underway, and assistance will also include funds for Ukraine, Taiwan and funding for strengthening the US-Mexico border.

As US national security adviser Jake Sullivan previously stated, the administration intends to request significantly more than $2 billion to support Ukraine, Israel and other needs.

In turn, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin emphasized that US assistance to Israel will not in any way affect military support for Ukraine. According to him, the United States can “help both” and will do so.
