US strikes on targets in Syria were a warning to Iran, John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, said in an interview with Fox News.

“This is a powerful warning signal. We hope that they (Iran – approx. REN TV) it was accepted. If this is not the case, if the attacks continue, then we, as US President Joe Biden said, will continue to respond.” – he said.

Kirby added that the strikes also indicate that the US “holds Iran responsible” for a number of attacks on US troops in Syria and Iraq.

On October 27, it was reported that US forces struck two targets in Syria that were used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and pro-Iranian groups.

Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin stated that these strikes were not related to the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Austin noted that the United States responded to attacks against US troops in Iraq and Syria that began on October 17.
