The United States admits the possibility of extending the humanitarian truce in Gaza. This statement was made on NBC by Assistant to the President for National Security Jake Sullivan.

“It’s definitely a possibility. We’d like to see it happen.”said Sullivan, answering a related question.

However, he stressed that the final decision will still remain with Hamas. The question is whether Hamas is willing to continue releasing hostages, including possibly more Americans, Sullivan concluded.

On November 26, Egypt received a list of 13 Israeli hostages and 39 Palestinians who will be exchanged as part of the third day of the agreement between Hamas and Israel.

The Israeli army has stated that it intends to return to eliminating Hamas after the hostage exchange.
