The German Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution detained two young people, supporters of the “Islamic State” terrorist organization, on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack in Cologne. Bild reports this.
A video was published on the Telegram channel in which a user called for a holy war against the West and announced an attack, the publication has learned. He gave Friday, December 1 as the date of the attack.
“The user turned out to be 15-year-old Edris D. from Burscheid. The young man of Afghan origin was not previously recognized as a terrorist suspect by the police or domestic intelligence,” explains Bild.

Also, according to the publication, Edris D. was in contact with 16-year-old Russian citizen Rasul M. from Wittstock (Brandenburg). He is also a supporter of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” and is known to be making terrorist propaganda by the police.
The media continued: “The young Russian was allegedly involved in the planned attack and, according to an investigation carried out by state security authorities, allegedly wanted to go to D. in Burscheid on December 1.”
According to Bild, the young people probably wanted to carry out a terrorist attack with improvised explosives or a small truck. The target of the attack was to be the Christmas market or synagogue in Cologne. Additionally, the young people planned to disappear immediately after the terrorist attack.
The publication stated, “The suspects’ homes were searched; the Düsseldorf prosecutor’s office and the Neuruppin prosecutor’s office are investigating on suspicion of planning to commit a terrorist crime.”
