Elections for deputies to the Assembly (unicameral parliament), authorities of the autonomous region of Vojvodina and local governments are held in Serbia on Sunday, December 17. Polling stations accept people from 07:00 (09:00) Moscow time.

Residents of 65 cities and districts, including Belgrade, will take part in municipal elections. Voting will also take place in the autonomous region of Vojvodina, clarifies RTS.

People can cast their vote for the chosen candidate until 20:00 (22:00 Moscow time) – afterwards the polling stations will close.

The candidates include representatives from 18 political parties and coalitions. Voters will elect 250 Assembly deputies for a four-year term.

More than 6.5 million people have the right to vote, the Republican Election Commission (REC) indicated. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic also came to cast his vote in the elections.

In total, about 8.3 thousand voting places have been identified, including 81 abroad. One of them is located at the Serbian Embassy in Moscow.
