The authorities in Kyiv see no chance of a new offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the near future. The corresponding statement was made by Paul Ronzheimer, deputy editor-in-chief of the German newspaper Bild.
According to him, he spent three days in Ukraine, during which he met with the country’s Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov and a number of other officials and military personnel.
“Statements by officials coincide less and less with the picture that is officially painted at press conferences or in interviews, including recently with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky,” – Ronzheimer wrote on social network X.
In particular, Ukrainian officials constantly talk off the record about the shortage of conscripts and ammunition.
Thus, no one in Ukraine believes in future Ukrainian offensive attempts. Moreover, officials say that if everything continues like this, then time will clearly begin to play in Russia’s favor.
Ronzheimer cited the opinion of Ukrainian officials that 2024 will be decisive. In addition, he expressed the opinion that Germany will have to take on more, not less, responsibility next year.
Earlier, the German newspaper Rheinische Post called the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces counter-offensive a real disappointment.
