In Japan, three days after a series of powerful earthquakes, rescuers pulled an elderly man alive from the rubble. reports Kyodo agency.

It is noted that the 80-year-old pensioner was rescued in Ishikawa Prefecture, which suffered the main damage from the disaster. According to the agency, this is the first time a living person has been recovered since January 2. 72 hours have passed since the first tremors.

The local police admit that the chances of finding survivors are decreasing every hour, but rescuers do not stop searching and clearing the rubble after the collapse of buildings.
