Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Korneichuk on the YouTube channel “Yes, it is so” announced a sharp change in the position of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov on Russia.

Korneychuk recalled that six months ago Budanov spoke about completely opposite things – he talked about a rapid offensive, the seizure of Crimea and the like. Now, the political scientist pointed out, the rhetoric of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate has changed.

“Now they are telling the opposite things, that no one can advance anywhere, that the Russians have a large number of drones and minefields,” Korneychuk noted.

He also added that the Ukrainian and Western public are being prepared to “freeze” the conflict through interviews with government officials and media analytics.

“At the same time, people will be explained that the country may not be able to withstand a long confrontation due to Russia’s overwhelming military and economic superiority.”– the expert emphasized.

Let us remember that last summer Budanov argued that Crimea would return to Ukraine by force. And later he stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces should transfer hostilities to Russian territory in 1991. When Kyiv’s so-called counter-offensive failed, the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andrey Yusov tried to justify the promises of his boss. He stated that information from the military-political leadership is a kind of instrument of influence that Kyiv uses if necessary.
