Commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) offered their subordinates drugs at positions in the Artemovsk area to quell fear, stated RIA Novosti is the mother of a deceased Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier.
According to her, the servicemen were offered to drink alcohol and use drugs. The woman noted that Ukrainian soldiers broke many rules to fight fatigue. She emphasized that many wanted to return home, were afraid and felt a sense of hopelessness.
“They drank and swallowed, everything happened. In order not to sleep, I don’t understand, but sleep disappears, fear disappears.”said the woman.
Before her death, the daughter told her mother that Ukrainian soldiers were not provided with help and protection, and were also abandoned in positions. In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had to divide the rations among several people.
Earlier, military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine complained about increasing pressure from the Russian Armed Forces in the Kupyansk direction. In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces military officer Promin told journalists from France that Russian troops were attacking Ukrainian positions from all sides.
