Users of the social network X condemned US President Joe Biden for publication about his lunch with an African-American family in North Carolina, where he brought boxes of fast food.
“Yesterday in North Carolina, I stopped by Eric’s house to have lunch with him and his two sons. I brought some Cook Out (the name of a local fast food chain).” – says the entry on the president’s page.
In the published photo, the head of the White House is shown at the home table with the owners of the house. Boxes of ketchup, French fries and pieces of chicken are laid out in front of them. Biden himself clarified that the father of the family was a teacher, and his children were “sports and academic stars.”
The president’s publication drew criticism from Internet users.
“I respect Eric, but I feel bad that you’re using him for political gain.” – noted one of the commentators.
Another noted that Biden brought ready-made junk food to visit, thus trying to “buy the votes of people of color” before the upcoming elections in the country.
“Did you tell Eric that if he doesn’t vote for you, he’s not black?” – another user suggested.
