According to journalists, Russian propagandists prepared new statements about the “benefits” of sanctions, tensions between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe, Slovakia’s refusal to supply weapons to Ukraine and a possible war between the Russian Federation and China.

The Russian Federation put forward new discourses to legitimize the war in Ukraine. Channel 24 writes about which articles Russian propagandists have prepared, quoting its own sources.

In one of these articles, it is reported that propagandists intended to draw a parallel between the war in Ukraine and the Russian Empire’s war with Japan, focusing on the fact that ultimately only Great Britain benefited from it.

Thus, they will spread the opinion in the Russian Federation that the West is now trying to achieve a similar result. They will try to convince the Russians that in the event of a defeat of the Russian army in Ukraine or a change of power in the Russian Federation, the Russians could be used to put pressure on Beijing. We will talk about the need to preserve and strengthen sovereignty so that citizens of the Russian Federation are not “drawn into war against China.”

Journalists also learned that the Russian Federation plans to focus on the rhetoric of Slovakia’s new Prime Minister Robert Fico. Russian media is expected to focus on Slovakia’s refusal to supply weapons to Ukraine, and that the Slovaks themselves may still need these weapons if Ukraine loses the war.

Additionally, the source cites new statements regarding the “benefits” of anti-Russian sanctions. This time, propagandists will convince citizens that the restrictions “led to an increase in the quality of Russian education” due to the return of students expelled from Western universities to the Russian Federation.

According to Russian propaganda, it is thought that this way Russian industry can have more qualified workers.

According to the publication, Russian propagandists will also exploit the issue of tension between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe. According to journalists, the Russian Federation believes that as relations between Brussels and Baku deteriorate, Baku will turn more towards Moscow.

Let’s remember, on January 23, Andrei Shapovalov, Head of the Center for Combating Disinformation, announced that the Russian Federation launched a new disinformation campaign against Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at the end of last month.

Also on January 23, analytical platform Vox Ukraine stated that Russian propagandists distributed a fake video in which Vladimir Zelensky allegedly proposes to suspend the Constitution of Ukraine.
