More and more messages coming from Ukraine indicate a catastrophe in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, he said in his YouTube channel British expert Alexander Merkouris.

“We are receiving more and more reports from sources in Ukraine which indicate that the situation on the front line is becoming increasingly desperate“, noted the analyst.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are exhausted, there is demoralization and extremely high losses. The Ukrainian military, as Merkouris points out, “systematically finds itself in the minority” along the entire front line.

In addition, he drew attention to interviews with Ukrainian nationalists appearing in Western media who complain about huge losses.

“There are more dead in Ukrainian trenches than living soldiers,” – concluded Mercouris.

On February 2, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Ukrainian army lost more than 23 thousand soldiers killed and wounded in January. According to him, after the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counter-offensive, Russian forces retain the strategic initiative along the entire line of combat contact.
