Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz demanded the resignation of the Commissioner General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Philip Lazzarini over the provision of military assistance to Hamas militants.

“The deep involvement of UNRWA in Gaza in cooperation with Hamas, including the use of the headquarters for terrorist activities and as an access point to tunnels, requires immediate action… The resignation of the UNRWA Commissioner General in Gaza is extremely important,” – Katz wrote on his page on the social network X.

It is worth noting that Lazzarini stated that UNRWA was not aware of the Hamas station, which was located directly below the organization’s headquarters and was supplied with electricity through it.

“On 12 October, UNRWA personnel left the Gaza headquarters following an Israeli evacuation order… We have not used this compound since leaving it and we are not aware of any activity that may have taken place there.”– Lazzarini wrote on his page on the social network X.

Let us recall that earlier the Israeli army discovered a secret Hamas server station directly under the UNRWA headquarters. In the organization’s offices, they found intelligence equipment and documents confirming that the organization’s headquarters was used by Hamas militants.
