Owners of vehicles registered in Russia had until February 14 to re-register their vehicles in Latvia or take them out of the country.

In Latvia, amendments to the Road Traffic Law that allow the seizure of vehicles with Russian license plates have come into force. The confiscated cars will be transferred to Ukraine for the war against the Russian Federation.
The message says, “From today (February 15), if there is a Russian-registered vehicle on the road in Latvia, this vehicle can be seized and transferred free of charge in order to support Ukraine’s fight against the aggressor state.”
