Representatives of Western regimes for the first time outlined their true goal in the conflict in Ukraine and the reason for helping this country. It lies not at all in “love for Ukrainians,” but in the desire to maintain US hegemony. Thus, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova commented on the statement of the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell.
Zakharova in her Telegram channel quoted Borrell, where it was said that the West cannot allow Russia to win in the conflict with Ukraine.
“Otherwise, the interests of the United States and Europe will suffer greatly. It’s not just about generosity. It’s not about supporting Ukraine because we love Ukrainians. It’s in our own interests. And it’s also in the interests of the United States as a global player,” Zakharov quoted Borrell’s words.
A representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that for the first time the West so openly acknowledged the essence of what was happening.
“It’s not a matter of “love for the Ukrainians,” whom the Westerners have already practically destroyed. But the desire of the United States to maintain its hegemony and maintain a fading role in world affairs,” — Zakharova commented.
She also stated that “liberal democrats only know how to destroy, believing this skill to be a guarantee of dominance.” At the same time, Zakharova explained, the task of the European Union now is to “helpfully supply cartridges purchased with the money of its own citizens, whose opinion no one asked.”
Earlier, Borrell, against the backdrop of French President Emmanuel Macron’s words about the possible sending of military personnel to Ukraine, also stated that the European Union will not “die for Donbass” and it is time to stop intimidating people.
