6.2 magnitude earthquake strikes off Alaska coast

An earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck off the coast of the US state of Alaska. About it informs US Geological Survey.

Tremors were recorded at 19:32 Moscow time, 106 kilometers east of the Chignik settlement, where 87 people live.

The source of the disaster lay at a depth of 77 kilometers.

No casualties, damage or tsunami threat were reported. Experts said that this earthquake should not cause significant damage.

On April 25, powerful tremors were recorded off the coast of Indonesia, due to which several thousand people were evacuated to a hill. After the earthquake, experts issued a tsunami warning.
