Renault’s affordable electric car Green wins NCAP Car of the Year 2022

The Dacia Spring electric car scored a record-breaking score in the Green NCAP test. The model even managed to surpass the Tesla Model 3 electric car.

Green NCAP experts chose the Dacia Spring electric car as the best car of 2022. The model even managed to surpass the Tesla Model 3. This was reported on the Autoevolution website.

Green NCAP measures the environmental impact of various vehicles. To do this, three indicators are evaluated – air purity, energy efficiency and greenhouse gas.

In the air purity test, the Dacia Spring received the maximum score for not emitting any harmful substances. The energy efficiency test was passed with ten points out of ten possible. The model took the lead, ahead of the Tesla Model 3, with a score of 9.8.

The model received the highest score in the greenhouse gas test, thanks to the Spring’s low power consumption and relatively low CO2 emissions from European power generation. The electric car set an absolute record.

Recall that Dacia Spring is one of the cheapest electric vehicles in Europe. Two versions are available, starting at $14,100 (advantageous).

The entry-level model is equipped with a 45 horsepower electric motor. and a torque of 125 Nm. The more expensive version produces 65 hp.

With a fully charged battery, the electric car can travel up to 225 km and reach a top speed of 125 km/h. With fast charging, it only takes 60 minutes to fully charge your car.
