Tractor wheels and two tons of weight: what the world’s largest bike looks like (video)

The Kleine Joanna bike reaches 5 meters in length and almost 2 meters in height. It has the ability to accelerate to 18 km/h and tow a five-ton trailer.

The world’s largest bike was made in Germany. Her name is Kleine Joanna (“Little Joanna”) and in March this year she entered the Guinness Book of Records. This has been reported by the Autoevolution website.

The Kleine Joanna bike is the invention of Sebastian Beutler, a Saxon entrepreneur who is passionate about creating extraordinary two-wheeled vehicles and metal installations.

Work on the bike began in 2020 and took 2,500 hours to complete. The giant apparatus looks more like a tractor or a car from the movie “Mad Max”.

The largest bike reaches 5 m in length and almost 2 m in height, and its weight is 2177 kg. For this, large wheels were borrowed from a tractor. There is a wheelchair for a passenger next door.

The giant bike retains pedal drive, but because it’s heavy, the gearbox is from an old Opel Blitz 3.6 truck – without it, Kleine Joanna wouldn’t budge.

The top speed is 18 km/h and a 1.5 ton trailer can also be towed. In addition, the bike received a small engine, but did not spin the wheels, but served as a generator for charging various tools.

The world’s largest bike has already been shown at several bike shows. In the summer, Sebastian Beutler plans a 389-kilometer bike ride to the Baltic Sea in Little Joanna.
