The 80 km/h speed limit has been abolished on 10 streets of Kiev. The decision was taken due to road safety concerns.
Starting from November 1, the speed limit on some streets in Kiev has been lowered. The 80 km/h limit is no longer valid. This was reported by the Kiev Official Portal with reference to the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration.
As you know, in the autumn-winter period (from 1 November to 1 April) the 80 km/h speed limit does not apply in the capital – the relevant road signs are removed and the limit is reduced to 50 km/h. . This decision was due to the desire to increase road safety, since braking distances are longer and driving is more difficult on wet or slippery asphalt.
In 2023, unlike last year, the 80 km/h limit in Kiev was valid from April 1 to October 31. Introduced in episode 10 road. The limit there has now been reduced to 50 km/h.
Places where the speed limit is reduced in Kiev:
- Pridneprovskoe highway;
- Naberezhnoe Highway (from Posthtovaya Square to Pridneprovskoe Highway);
- Stolichnoye Highway (to Academician Zabolotnogo Street);
- st. Saperno-Slobodskaya (from the turnaround on N. Grinchenko Street to the South Bridge);
- street. N. Bazhana from the South Bridge to Kharkovskaya Square. (in the opposite direction – from Kharkovskaya Square to Dneprovskaya Embankment);
- street. S. Bandera (from Obolonsky Prospekt to North Bridge);
- street. R. Shukhevych (from the North Bridge to Balzac Street);
- street. Voskresensky (from Voskresenskaya Street to A. Navoi Street);
- st. Naberezhno-Rybalskaya (from Gavansky Bridge to Elektrikov Street);
- R-69 Road (from Bogatyrskaya St., 26-A to the Kiev border, except for the section near the traffic light).
