The share of hybrid and electric vehicles in the new car segment in Ukraine has increased. However, gasoline-powered models continue to dominate.
5.7 thousand new passenger cars were purchased in Ukraine in October. Experts named the most popular models by fuel type. The Ukravtoprom association talked about this.
New car sales reached 2016 levels in October. This figure is 83% more than the same period in 2022.
Models with internal combustion engines continue to dominate the new car market in Ukraine. However, their share fell from 68% to 65% in October.
Gasoline engine models continue to lead the new car segment. They captured 45 percent of the market last month.
The share of diesel cars decreased from 22 percent to 20 percent. At the same time, hybrid models have become 2% more popular and cover 19% of the new car market.
In October, the share of electric vehicles increased from 14 percent to 15 percent. Models with gas equipment occupied only 1% of the market.
The most popular models by fuel type:
- gasoline cars – Toyota RAV4;
- diesel cars – Renault Duster;
- hybrid cars – Nissan Qashqai;
- electric cars – Volkswagen ID.4;
- LPG car – Hyundai Tucson.
