Mercedes-Benz 770 K or Grosser Mercedes (“Big Mercedes”) was the flagship of the German brand’s lineup in the 30s. In total, only 107 such cars were produced from 1930 to 1944. The last German Kaiser Wilhelm II, Japanese Emperor Hirohito, Finnish Marshal Carl Gustav Mannerheim, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Pope Pius XI rode on them.

This particular Mercedes 770 K was carrying three monarchs at once. This convertible with a body from the Voll & Ruhrbeck studio was produced for King Faisal I of Iraq. Later, the chariot was used by his successors Ghazi I and Faisal II.

In 1966, Mercedes-Benz was purchased for the museum at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was frequently used for driver parades at the Formula 1 Grand Prix. In 2007 the car was restored.

The huge Mercedes 770 K Convertible reaches a length of 5.7 m and a wheelbase of 3.75 m, its interior is covered in leather and wood. Under the hood is a massive 7.7-litre eight-eight engine with a 200-horsepower supercharger, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 160 km/h.
