G7 countries raised billions of dollars for Ukraine: how much are we talking about

The G7 announced that they will continue to meet the urgent financial needs of Ukraine and will support our country as much as possible.

The G7 countries have already collected about 32 billion dollars for Ukraine, which our country will receive in 2023 to cover its most important financial expenses. Information about this is published on the organization’s website.

This amount is known to include:

  • €18 billion from the European Union;
  • grants and loans from individual countries;
  • US support package.

The G7 promises to support Ukraine no matter how long it takes. Additionally, the organization announced the creation of an interdepartmental Donor Coordinating Council.

The G7 countries also urged Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund to make rapid progress in agreeing on the volume of the financing program for next year, 2023.

Note that the “Big Seven” intend to further intensify their efforts to allocate military aid to Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about the necessary military equipment, including air defense systems.

Recall that in October the G7 countries said they were ready to support Ukraine after the war. The G7 pledged to continue meeting Ukraine’s urgent need for military equipment and demanded that Russia completely withdraw all its troops and military equipment.

Parallel to this, at the beginning of December, information emerged that the G7 countries wanted to keep Russian oil in the market at a ceiling price. According to analyst Joel Hancock, the market has come to believe that Russian crude oil exports will remain more resilient than previously anticipated.
