Moshenets said, “This year, Russia has become the most sanctioned country in the world. During this period, some leading countries have imposed many economic and individual sanctions on Russia, its real and legal persons.”

He stressed that the sanctions are an effective leverage on the Kremlin, so systematic work in this direction should not stop.

Western sanctions: when the Russian economy hits bottom

According to Bloomberg experts, Western sanctions have disrupted trade chains. Some sectors, such as the automotive sector, were paralyzed. Consumer spending has stalled.

In November 2022, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation predicted a deterioration in the economy in the following quarters, recovery should not be expected until the second half of 2023. The situation will be complicated by a reduction in energy supplies to Europe. At the beginning of 2023, crude oil production in Russia will be reduced by about 20%.
