According to Yasno CEO Sergei Kovalenko, the sharp drop in air temperature led to an increase in energy consumption and overloading of energy networks in the capital.
In Kiev, the load on electricity consumption increased and accidents began to occur in the electrical system. This was announced by Yasno CEO Sergei Kovalenko on his official Facebook page.
“Actually, everything happens as we say: the temperature in the street drops, consumption increases, and the number of accidents increases,” wrote Kovalenko.
He explained that a situation has developed across Ukraine, in which neither generation nor networks are now in a position to operate without restrictions.
Kovalenko emphasized that the absence of power outages during the New Year holidays is literally the result of the work of electrical engineers, who keep temporary schemes in operation. In addition, on New Year’s Eve a number of production facilities were closed throughout the country, allowing electrical engineers to “transfer” more electricity to the needs of the population.
Yasno CEO added that Ukraine and Kiev should return to their cut programs. Even round-the-clock repair of power grids and nuclear power plants damaged by the invaders’ attacks (in particular, a unit at Rivne NPP is currently undergoing overhaul) does not solve the problem of shortages.
Earlier, Ukrenergo told about what is necessary for the stable operation of the energy system. In our country, there is a shortage of 750 kV transformers, each weighing up to 200 tons.
Focus he also wrote on January 8 that energy engineers are developing a new power supply plan for the Ukrainian capital. Now experts are working to launch a plan in Kiev from mid-February, thanks to which the water supply and heating systems will always be with production.
