Emmanuel Reyes, President Health Commission in San Lazaropointed out that the opinion to be presented at the plenary session was negatively concluded by the federal agency.

“Yes, this is serious. There are 23,000 people on the waiting list and I think the demand is growing; we have to monitor this because there is no decrease, on the contrary, over time, chronic degenerative diseases such as diabetes, hypertension increase,” he explained.

One of the points of opinion speaks of a figure prospective donor, in which, if he does not express his refusal to donate an organ during his lifetime, the organs of this person can be disposed of, while respecting the right of the family.

He stressed that due to the lack of donors, many people die while waiting for transplants, and thanks to the initiative, 23,000 people who hope to receive an organ can be taken care of.

The federal deputy clarified that the Ministry of Health has a proposal to finalize the draft, for which he expected that in two weeks, within the framework of international organ day, which is celebrated on October 15, may be resumed in San Lazaro.
