Direct confrontation: Putin responds to calls for Ukraine to join NATO

According to former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, it is necessary to take into account not a hypothetical threat, but a direct threat. Separately, he spoke about what will lead to Kiev’s accession to the Alliance.

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and former President Dmitry Medvedev spoke about Henry Kissinger’s call to make Ukraine a part of NATO. A Kremlin spokesperson opposed the decision, citing several “reasons”. He wrote this on his Telegram channel on May 18.

In his opinion, the former Secretary of State and National Security Advisor to the President of the United States is completely mistaken, and according to him, Ukraine should not be a part of NATO.

“Of course, he is 100 years old in 10 days and also met with Brezhnev. But he is completely wrong here. He described the conflict between the United States and China as the main threat to humanity. I have always believed this. For the correct assessment of the situation, a direct and obvious threat, not a hypothetical, must be taken into account. It’s important to get it,” he said.

Also, Dmitry Medvedev said that Kiev has achieved its goal and is a member of the Alliance, and what this will lead to in the future.

First of all, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation believes that the North Atlantic Alliance is already waging a hybrid war against the Kremlin and will not stop trying to return Ukraine even after full membership in NATO. legitimate territories.

Russia, as Dmitry Medvedev wrote, will have to react sharply to this in every possible way, and therefore Article 5 of the Washington Treaty will apply. That is, a direct conflict between the Russian Federation and NATO.

“Fine arguments about preventing existential threats are useless during bloody conflicts. This should be obvious even to those approaching the centennial,” summarized Dmitry Medvedev.

Remember, on May 18, Henry Kissinger criticized Europe’s rhetoric about Ukraine’s NATO membership. He believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin made a big mistake by deciding to go to war against Ukraine. In addition, according to him, part of the blame lies in Western countries that do not prevent it.
