Government officials have to cooperate with the telegram channels because they have a huge readership, but neither the Presidential Office nor Podolyak controls any of the telegram channels.
The Office of the President does not control any telegram channels, including the Joker telegram channel. But officials want telegram channels to at least receive some form of regulation from the state. Mikhail Podolyak, advisor to the head of the Presidential Office, stated this in an interview with LIGA.net.
“I officially say this: the Presidential Office and I personally do not control telegram channels, including Joker. I think this is nonsense,” Podolyak said.
He stated that he was in favor of telegram channels at least having some kind of regulation by the state, because if there is no such regulation then “it is difficult to imagine that Pavel Durov (founder of Telegram) would open an office here.” Ukraine to filter out fake and false information.”
“If it is possible to create a transparent ownership structure, then telegram channels will exist as media with certain regulations. If not, then we need to look for other forms, because it is strange that anonymity dominates your market,” Podolyak said.

Advisor to the President added that regulation of telegram channels can best be done through legislative changes
“If changes are made to the law regulating telegram channels, there will be an urgent need to know who you work with and how. Thus (telegram channel – ed.) is clearly registered as a media platform.” recorded Podolyak.
He also admitted that government officials should cooperate with telegram channels because they have a large audience.
Let us recall that on March 26, Mikhail Podolyak commented on the accusations against Kiev by the Director of the FSB of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bortnikov, and said that the statements regarding Kiev’s alleged involvement in organizing the massacre in the Crocus City Hall were lies.
Also on March 28, Podolyak said that Russia increased its aggression because it did not see the reaction of NATO countries to the violation of their airspace. However, even NATO’s usual statement that the Alliance is evaluating the possibility of shooting down Russian missiles scares the Russian Federation.
