The World Anti-Doping Agency WADA may suspend the Norwegian team from participation in the Olympic Games due to the country’s refusal to comply with obligations under international anti-doping legislation, Norwegian news channel NRK reports.

According to the national TV channel, we are talking about testing young athletes aged 15 to 18 who cannot be tested for doping without the consent of their parents or other legal representatives. Thus, this led to the fact that for almost two years, not a single athlete from Norway was tested without an official warning from the anti-doping service.

In addition, the president of the Norwegian Olympic Committee, Nils Einar Aas, during a short conversation with the presenters of the TV channel, stressed that an official letter demanding that the law be changed has already been sent to the country’s parliament.

We need a legal framework that gives minors the right to consent to doping tests“Aas concluded.

Earlier it was reported that the head of the WADA commission to investigate the doping scandal at the Sochi Olympics, Richard McLaren, called for the admission of Russian athletes to international competitions.
